COVID TESTING

Due to increasing number of cases in our  area, and  the fact that we serve to a very vulnerable patient population with multiple chronic, and potentially life threatening conditions, we are implementing the policy of testing for ALL patients at their visit  before they can enter the clinical unit.  We will be offering Rapid Antigen testing for SARS-COV2 as per CDC and Virginia State Department of Health guidelines,  but will accept the results of Quantitative Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (QNAAT )(PCR) for SARS-Cov2 performed within 72 hours of the visit as well.  Blood based testing results will not be accepted. Patients whose visits, such as the ones for simple blood draws and injections that require 15 minutes or less direct contact with the nursing staff may be exempt, if they are willing to wait next to the clinic area during the preparation of the medications, or their required observation period after treatment.

As known, one may remain asymptomatic after the exposure, and if infected, some may not develop any significant symptoms, and more importantly, some may remain positive for prolonged periods of time.  Recently, there had been an incidence that a patient who did not declare any risk factors for SARS-CoV2 infection tested positive with the rapid antigen testing. This could have potentially exposed our patients and staff if we had not tested this patient.  For the patients who inadvertently contracted the SARS-CoV2 infection, regardless of their current health status, we require at least two negative QNAAT results at least 72 hours apart, before they can be return to the clinic to resume their treatments.

SARS-CoV2 Point-of- Care test reimbursement claims will be submitted to your Insurance carrier ONLY.  Any questions please contact our Practice Manager at 571-529-6805 or via email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
